Onto the World Cruise

How the Italians view Musk :-D

Finally, after many months, our big day has arrived! We enjoyed our stay at the hotel Continental in Genoa, but it was time to say goodbye, and move in to our home for the next 4 months. We worked out, packed our bags, grabbed breakfast at the fancy buffet, hit the pharmacy, and had the desk call a cab to haul all our stuff to the port. We had the surliest cab driver in history, and while I was grabbing the bags, he was yelling at Jessica about out cruise tickets. When I showed him the tickets he calmed down for a bit, and started farting and driving us the quarter mile or so to the pier. He must have been having a really bad day, or just hates tourists in general, I dunno what. We dropped the bags, and MSC picked them up right at the curb, and he yelled at me about it being impossible to take my CC, and one of the cruise people translated that he had to move out from under the bridge to get coverage. Ok and good riddance..

So the boarding process was super easy and seamless. It was very uncrowded, and moved really quickly, based on our experience. We walked directly to our stateroom, stashed our carryons, met our porter, and hit the buffet, which included beer! A tour of the boat, the gym and the spa (which is outrageously pricy) gave us the general feel for the layout. We had an issue with our dinner seating, which was promptly fixed, and still need to address some of the other pre-booking tech issues.
