Our day in Melbourne started with a city tour that included a river cruise. We grabbed an outside spot, so we didn’t hear any of the highlights, but the views were lovely.
We saw a huge bunch of white birds squawking and cavorting, and I noticed the tufts on their heads. They were near the botanical garden and out on quite a show!
We took a walk around the city to the open air market, which is the largest in the southern hemisphere. Jess befriended some girls representing a group called “clothing the gap” which raises funds for indigenous children.

We wandered into the botanical gardens after riding the free tram, a cable car looking trolley powered by electricity. It was a fun experience.
Melbourne was another beautiful, clean Australian city with friendly people. We got lucky with the weather, which was gorgeous!
